The world of golf is only a few hours away from witnessing Tiger Woods back on the golf course. While his highly anticipated return had been the talk of the town, it has led to discussions between journalists and broadcasters about what to expect from the Hall of Famer. In one such conversation, UNDISPUTED’s Skip Bayless had some truth bombs to share about Woods.
Tiger is set to compete at the upcoming Genesis Invitational, an event that he annually hosts. However, it will mark the 15-time Major winner’s first PGA Tour event appearance, apart from the Majors, since the 2020 ZOZO Championship.
His return has led many big broadcasters to re-begin talking about golf. Fox Sports’ ‘Undisputed’, which is hosted by former NFL Tight End Shannon Sharpe and sports columnist Skip Bayless reacted to the golfing great’s return to the sport during their recent episode.

Skip and Shannon claim Tiger Woods is lucky
In the new episode of their talk show, both men discuss Woods’ words before his participation at the Genesis Invitational. The golfer claimed that he has arrived at the Riviera Country club with a win on his mind. However, both Bayless as well as Sharpe feel Tiger hasn’t got what it takes to win the upcoming PGA Tour event.
“He (Tiger Woods) said his ankle is still bothering. He still had plantar fasciitis”, said Shannon Sharpe. One of the main reasons behind Tiger’s absence from the sport has been his right leg injury, which he endured during a car accident in February 2021. Deeming to this, Sharpe believes the old glory days of the golfer will never return.

Similar to the 3-time Super Bowl winner, his co-host Skip Bayless also agrees with him. “I think his ankle is just flat-out rest. He’s lucky he didn’t lose his foot or his leg”, said Bayless while talking about Woods’ accident two years ago. Shannon Sharpe added, “How do you compete if you’re in pain walking?”

While both men claim the odds for Tiger Woods to win the Genesis Invitational may be shy, they do give the Hall of Famer his flowers. Even Bayless, who is popular for constantly criticizing NBA star, LeBron James, also shared admiration toward Tiger by saying, “He’s very lovable”.
