In 28 years of his professional career, Phil Mickelson will not be a part of the Masters for the first time. Since it was shocking news, the golf world is still talking about it. Meanwhile, the former golfer Paige Spiranac doesn’t want to be a part of it, and she has her reason for that. 

Spiranac expressed why she doesn’t want to indulge in a discussion about Mickelson in the latest episode of her podcast ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee.’ 

“That was a huge story with mixed reviews,” Paige said about Mickelson not being part of the 2022 Masters field. She explained that many people don’t care about it anymore. “I’m kind of… I kind of feel that way cause I’m petty cause he blocked me, and I don’t care about Phil anymore,” she added. 

She further explained that some people are concerned about Phil and are talking about why he is not part of the Augusta Nationals’ field. “But I don’t really care that Phil is not the Masters, and again my opinions coming from a very petty place.” Spiranac further added, “Once you block me, you are dead to me.” 

Mickelson has won 6 majors, out of which three of them are the Masters. He won his first major at the 2004 Masters after spending 12 years as a professional golfer. Furthermore, Mickelson has never missed playing at the Augusta Nationals ever since 1994.

Despite having such a good history with the event, he is not included in the 2022 field list. Many golf fans have been talking about the same. However, Spiranac doesn’t feel the same. “I don’t really care,” she said. “I’m kind of over the Phil drama, to be honest.” 

When did Phil Mickelson block Paige Spiranac? 

Spiranac didn’t know Lefty had blocked her on social media. When one of the golf fans tagged her on Mickelson’s post, Spiranac couldn’t view it. And that is when she realized that one of the best golfers in the world had blocked her. 

However, she didn’t sit around being sad about it but mentioned it right away as one of the comments. Moreover, Mickelson has never explained the reason behind blocking Spiranac.
