Justin Walker, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, and Patrick Cantlay, are some of the big names that are hoping to emerge victorious this year.

Patrick Cantlay, in particular, was a favorite going into the PGA Tour event. The 31-year-old golfer, who had a T14 finish at the Masters, has come under the limelight for his alleged “slow play” during the final round at Augusta. Now, a new video featuring the golfer has come to the surface, inciting varied reactions from fans.

A new Patrick Cantlay video comes to light

After the Masters drew to an end, several people including competing players took a jibe at the World No. 4 for his slow play. LIV golfer Brooks Koepka, who was leading for the most part at Augusta, also expressed his frustration with the golfer’s pace.

Now, a video of Patrick Cantlay during the second round of the RBC Heritage event has come to light. Shared by @BumpSports on Twitter, the clip shows the golfer sending a short chip straight toward a tree. The Twitter user even captioned the video saying, “These guys are the best in the world…#justlikeus.

The video has garnered significant attention from golf fans, some of whom found the moment extremely relatable.

Some fans also referred to the golfer’s hole-in-one shot at the RBC Heritage on Friday. Cantlay’s incredible shot, which was the second hole-in-one in two years at Heritage, helped him jump to the top five on the leaderboard.

One golf fan noted that he enjoyed the hilarious clip “a bit more” than Cantlay’s hole-in-one. Another fan couldn’t believe it, saying “And then he hits a hole in one!!! Oh golf!“. Per reports, the golfer sent out two coolers worth of drinks to the media tent after his great outing yesterday.

One fan believes that the golfer’s slow play has followed him from Augusta to Hilton Head. Meanwhile, another noted that this made them feel better about their own “shot.

Cantlay refutes slow play criticism

Following widespread criticism regarding his alleged “slow play” at Augusta, Cantlay has hit back at critics. On Sunday, a frustrated Brooks Koepka had called the player out, saying “The group in front of us was brutally slow.” However, the PGA golfer refuted the claims, sharing that Koepka’s group wasn’t the only one to suffer during the Masters.

The 2023 Masters witnessed several delays due to ominous weather throughout the week. In a press conference ahead of the RBC Heritage, Cantlay said, “I mean, we finished the first hole, and the group in front of us was on the second tee when we walked up to the second tee.” He shed light on having to wait on pretty much every shot.
