The golf world celebrated as the legend Tiger Woods recently made his comeback. Although he couldn’t mark out his return from the hiatus the way he envisioned, the pro made a healthy one regardless. Moreover, Mr. T also revealed how he would be looking forward to a better season in 2024 after the long break for recovery.

But, recalling the Hall of Famer’s past, the cause of all of this comes down to a single point – the accident in 2021. However, Alan Shipnuck had a different opinion regarding the same. What’s more, the famous writer even questioned the details of the incident while pointing out the inconsistency of the “accident,” nothing short of a curious case!

The pro golfer had met with an unfortunate accident in 2021, leading him to take a long break from golf. However, in an exclusive interview, Shipnuck couldn’t help but express his dissatisfaction with the storyline that was painted regarding the accident. Moreover, he even went ahead to question the reason behind the same.

The famous author first pointed out how “Tiger’s always dismissed any questions about that day by saying it’s all in the police report.” But, for the sportswriter, going 88 mph on a residential street with a 40 mph limit with a “pedal depressed at 99 percent force throughout the accident” does not sit well with him. Moreover, he indicated that it won’t be possible if the pro was asleep or was “distracted by his phone.”

The golf writer further speculated how “Something went wrong that day with Tiger” all the while disclosing how only the 82X PGA Tour champ himself knows the reason. Nevertheless, he alludes to how the whole incident “raises a lot of serious questions,” especially for someone who has “been in some dark places” and has also suffered from various injuries in the past.

What’s more, as per the writer, the resurgence that the athlete was able to manifest on the greens has led him to also have “a different role” in the game. Regardless of the same, one can’t deny the successful recovery that the 15X major champ has made over the two years.

The comeback of a legend

Despite his return to the course at the 2022 and 2023 Masters, he wasn’t able to exhibit his best in both. Woods even had to withdraw from the latter due to problems with his ankle. Even so, in the recently ended Hero World Challenge, the 47-year-old put up a commendable performance finishing T18 at even par 288.
