With every tip he shared, every laugh he let slip, he connected deeply with those who loved the sport. But unfortunate times often come unannounced. The news that the familiar voice has fallen silent, too, came as a devastating update.

The Barstool Sports personality was loved by all for his easygoing humor. At the very young age of 31, ‘Beef’ Franke passed away over the weekend after what his company described as a “sudden medical issue.” Franke’s death has left a void in the golf community. Many known personalities have expressed their emotions, losing the content creator more lovingly known to all as ‘Beef’.
As the news of his sudden demise went public, fans from all across the globe mourned Franke. Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, paid a heartfelt tribute, stating, “lost a member of our family”. As tributes pour in, even golf influencer Paige Spiranac joined in mourning the loss of a voice that made the sport feel closer to home.

As the official Instagram handle of Fore Play Podcast shared the grim news, Spiranac commented, “Heartbreaking, He was such a kind and good person.” The official Instagram account of the PGA Tour also added in the comment section, “Beef was an incredible member of the golf community, our thoughts are with his family and friends.” It’s been just a year since Franke joined Barstool Sports as a creator. But the man knew how to remind all that a sport is best played with heart.
