Phil Mickelson’s move to LIV Golf was much talked about. But the fire surrounding his switch hasn’t gone out yet. The aftermath of his shift is what keeps making rounds in the world of golf.
Recently, Mickelson gave an interview that involved some insides of his life post defecting from the PGA Tour. He also mentioned how playing for LIV Golf it is different from playing on the PGA Tour.

Phil’s defection from the PGA Tour is not hidden from any of us. The pro golfer made a decision to join the Saudi-backed league a few months back. Ever since spectators are hooked on knowing how this change has been for Lefty.
However, luckily for Phil, things have been “fantastic” so far. When asked how the environment is, he replied affirming his contention in his move.

The pro golfer said, “the energy is different. We all have a say. Everybody is being listened to. We had a great players’ meeting and they’re listening to what everybody is saying and trying to make the best product. If there’s something we can improve on, we make a change.”
He also mentioned how it is more relaxing to play in the Saudi-backed league. This is because the league, according to Mickelson has a more fun and fan-friendly environment.
Mickelson continued, “I love the feeling of wearing shorts. I think that kind of — I know, but it’s consistent with what LIV Golf is all about, it’s making it — it’s updating the professional golf. I think we’re all enjoying the fan-friendly and player-friendly environment.”
In contrast to most people’s expectations, Mickelson seems to be enjoying this new professional step he has chosen in his journey as a golfer.

Mickelson’s skill is unmatched by probably anyone in this generation. As was expected, when he defected to LIV Golf, it made heads turn. The 52-year-old has gained much love and a huge following based on his golfing skills

Phil Mickelson explained the reason for his move. He termed this shift as transformative. In all honesty, it is clearly a big shift for any player, Phil Mickelson’s experience and age make this move even more exciting for him.
He said, “This new path is a fresh start, one that is exciting for me at this stage of my career and is clearly transformative, not just for myself, but ideally for the game and my peers. I would like to think that I have given back as well but now I am excited about this new opportunity.”
So clearly, Phil does seem to be having a fun time playing for LIV Golf now that things have turned the way he wanted them to.
