The Koepka household is familiar with success in the sport of golf. Brooks Koepka, along with his brother Chase, currently competes at the Saudi-funded LIV Golf. However, since both brothers compete at the highest level of the sport, it must be quite simple for their parents to determine who’s much more competitive. Their father, Bob Koepka, once shared how unique Brooks’ attitude is compared to Chase’s.

Brooks Koepka has become one of the most successful golfers of this era. He has managed to win 4 Majors titles and also was the World number one back in 2018. However, not much can be said when talking about his younger brother.

Chase Koepka turned pro back in 2016 and recently joined the lucrative Tour, earlier than his brother. Nonetheless, when the brother was still young, their father had more hopes for Chase in terms of golfing talents than the 4 time Major winner.

Brooks Koepka has a killer instinct, says his father

The Fire Pit Collective interviewed Bob Koepka recently, to speak on the recent growth of Chase in the golf world. Chase too had some words to share by claiming “very proud to be Brooks’s brother”. However, he then added it wasn’t easy being his brother while young.

Bob Koepka who had a front-row seat watching his young sons go on to become pro golfers shared his side of the story. “When they were young kids, many people would have said Chase was going to be the better player,” Bob said.

He further shed light on how Brook’s killer instinct has been a key element in his success. Bob said, “But he is quick to add that what separated the two was Brooks’s killer instinct, which was on full display when he won four our of eight major championships beginning in June 2017”.

The Senior Koepka also claimed that his elder son would prove everyone wrong, regardless of the sport.“Whether it was Ping-Pong or golf, if someone told Brooks he couldn’t do it, he would prove them wrong,” said Bob.

The unwillingness to lose has helped Brooks reach the pinnacle of golf. He won the final individual event of the inaugural LIV Golf event, indicating his return to great form. With the commencement of the next year’s season, all golfers will keep a close eye on Brooks as the most formidable opponent.
