Rory McIlroy is one of the golfers who has discerned his name throughout the world of golf. The champion golfer’s never-give-up attitude towards the game is truly vitalizing. He recently added yet another achievement to his pre-existing ones. However, what is shocking is that a player like McIlroy has achieved this big milestone for just the third time. As per popular expectations, a player of his stature should have probably received more of these, but contrary to this, the reality was divergent.

Rory McIlroy made his first ace shot or hole-in-one back when he was just ten years old. He turned professional at the age of 18 back in 2007.
Rory McIlroy adds another achievement to his list
The Official Official World Golf Ranking recently announced its rankings for the 52nd week. A list of the top 40 players was issued by the said organization.

Fortunately for Rory McIlroy, he topped the 52 Week’s list and is set to top this year’s list and finally complete his third strike of being world no. 1.

McIlroy was followed by Scottie Scheffler, ranking second in the OWGR Rankings, and Cameron Smith third.
Although it remains to raise eyebrows how McIlroy, considering how glorious his game has only ranked first in the World thrice. The first time he was world no. 1 at the end of the calendar year was back in 2012, followed by once in 2014. This year, the achievement remains to be a significant one since he broke a sort of career dry spell and achieved his goals after almost 8 years.

This was because his play went into a slump after 2014. However, Rory geared up this year and got his name up in the major global golf ranking list yet again.
Decoding how Rory improved his game to such an extent
A few months back, McIlroy shared his workout plan with his fans online. He had been working on improving his strength through contrast training. His attempts to strengthen his hips and legs surely paid him off.

This can be seen in this year’s ranking. After 2014, this is the first time Rory is repeating this fortunate history.
