Former caddie of Patrick Reed once got involved in an ugly fight
There have been several times when Patrick Reed has gotten into squabbles for things he allegedly did during tournaments. His career has been filled with questionable situations throughout his time on the PGA Tour. But there was this once when his caddie did the job for him to get him on the news. And it was not for something good.

Brother-in-law cum caddie Kessler Karain made things really tough for Reed during the 2019 Presidents Cup. As per the spectators, Karain got into a heated fight with a heckler after Saturday’s session at Royal Melbourne.

The PGA Tour released a statement explaining that the caddie had to be axed from the final round of the event. “Following an incident that took place on Saturday at the Presidents Cup involving Kessler Karain and a spectator, Karain will not return to caddie for Sunday’s final-round singles matches,” PGA Tour’s statement said.

Despite his relationship with his then-caddie, Reed decided to keep it safe with his words. In response to the PGA Tour’s announcement, Reed issued another statement. “I respect the tour’s decision. We are all focused on winning the Presidents Cup tomorrow,” he stated.

Kessler Karain stated his honest intentions about protecting Reed
Being directly involved, Karain came up with an explanation about the matter. “After hearing several fans in Australia for 3 days some had taken it too far,” he said in his statement. “I had had enough. And this gentleman was one of them,”

He also added how a guy, who was merely three feet away from Reed, yelled “you f***ing suck”. That is when Karain got off the cart and “shoved” him. He admitted to unleashing “a few expletives” as well before the security stepped in and he left in the cart.

He also stated how his actions did not result in anything more than some spilled beer. The caddie also offered to pay the heckler for his loss and said there was no other harm done that day.
