Some golfers consider Tiger Woods to be the most humble athlete, while others claim he is a trash talker. Though Woods has most commonly depicted his modest side to the fans, during a golf clinic in 2018, the competitive side of the Hall of Famer was revealed that fears fellow golfers around the world.
With 82 professional wins that also include his 15 Major titles, Tiger is known for his hunger for victory. To fulfill his craving for silverware, the golfer has always developed a tough mindset. For years several golfers have shared their stories of how terrifying Tiger Woods can be mentally on the golf course. Nonetheless, his elite competitive mindset was once revealed to the fans during a golf clinic in 2018.

Tiger Woods doesn’t care if you’re intimidated by his presence
Woods ended his five-year win drought of a PGA Tour event in 2018. However, a few months before his Tour Championship win, a video of the 15-time Major winner was going viral where he had a message for fellow pros.

Tiger said, “I can’t control you (referring to golfers)” while summoning the spectators at a golf clinic. He then said, “Only I can control is me. Now if I do this more efficiently than you. Well if you intimidated, that’s your own f***ing issue”.

The message from the Hall of Famer had the fans burst out laughing. Though many may have considered it to be humorous from Woods, it was that mindset of the golfer that helped him in becoming one of the greatest. While he didn’t refrain from claiming to be the greatest golfer, his accolades in the sport defend his statement.

When Tiger made this statement in 2018, many considered it to be the last stage of his professional career. However, it was only the beginning of another phase of his 27-year-long career. Later in 2018, he won his third Tour Championship, ending a winless drought. Meanwhile, a year later, he returned to Augusta National to win back his Green Jacket once again.

While many are still counting out Tiger Woods from winning any more events or Majors, the intimidating mind of the Hall of Famer will help him in keeping high morale to reclaim his throne back in the sport.
