After recuperating from his extensive knee surgery, John Daly is prepping for his comeback on the PGA Tour Champions. The 56-year-old has been practicing at various events across the country to refine his gameplay. This week, he was seen at Johnny Damon’s charity event, where he was at his regular self, both on and off the course.

John Daly raring to go before the comeback trail

The two-time major championship was at the former NFL star’s charity golf event, where he teed up alongside other big names in the industry. After working with DJ Khaled last weekend, Daly was seen having a gala time at the pre-event party and had the audience on their feet with his songs.

Additionally, Daly was also present on the course and was also pictured with others on the field. The list included TV personality, Lauren Thompson, who had kind words for the golfer.

“Love me some,” she wrote in her story while posing with Daly, before sharing a few heart-warming lines about him. “Everyone knows he’s the life of the party, but the man has a heart of gold and is so giving of his time. Cheers to you, JD,” she wrote alongside the picture.

Thompson has watched Daly closely due to her work commitments at ‘GolfNow’, where she works as a host. She has also worked for ‘Golf Channel’ before and has appeared in a variety of shows, including ‘The Champion Within’ and ‘Heart of a Champion With Lauren Thompson’.

Is Daly good enough to spark his comeback?

Despite getting back on track, there are several issues on the horizon when it comes to Daly’s playing career. Once the longest driver on the course, ‘Long John’ has fallen off the grid in the last decade.

Indeed, he now plays on the PGA Tour Champions, a sanctioned tour for players above the age of 50. But having won two majors, the Open and the PGA Championships, Daly has the entry card to two of the game’s most prominent events.

But will Daly turn back time to give a glimpse of his former self? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
