But there was also another at Augusta, Aaliyah Kikumoto, who caught the public’s attention and walked away with a huge gig!

For days after the Masters, Kikumoto was trending on social media, thanks to her few moments of being on camera behind Rahm and Koepka. Soon the Texas Tech student was going viral all over Instagram and Twitter, with fans falling in love with her left, right, and center. In just a matter of days, her Instagram following tripled from 14,000 to over 46,300 and counting.

On TikTok too, her posts were viral, with one video of her getting over 4.5 million views. And that wasn’t even the end of it! As per a recent Golf Digest report, last week, she even landed a modeling job with BSX, a youth-oriented fashion brand. Just goes to show the power of the Masters; it can make also careers of those not playing the sport too!

How did Kikumoto find the spotlight at Augusta?

On Sunday at the event, Koepka and Rahm were waiting their turn to play at the 16th hole, ‘Redbud’. Due to Patrick Cantlay’s controversial slow play, their wait was, of course, incredibly long. And they found themselves with a lot of camera time just standing and doing nothing. And behind them, lo, she was with a big smile and a green cap!

The few moments that she stood behind the pros at the event that were caught on camera, were more than enough to nudge her towards stardom. Her gorgeous smile had caught the attention of many who wanted to know who she was! And via the vast reach of Twitter, she was soon found. And the rest for the 19-year-old is now career-building history!
