For the past three days, Brooks Koepka has been enjoying the top position of the leaderboard at the Masters. However, along with his lead, the LIV star has also been surrounded by a pinch of controversy. Though Koepka rejected showing signs to his first-round playing partner Gary Woodland, a new video depicts how the golfer may have been lying.

With his impressive performance at Augusta National, Brooks Koepka may be a few hours away from wearing the Green Jacket for the first time. It would his first Major since the 2019 PGA Championship. His exceptional 2023 Masters began in the first round itself.

However, apart from his seven-under-par performance, Koepka was accused of showing signals to the caddie of his friend and Thursday’s playing partner Woodland. Though both golfers rejected the accusations, Brooks’ video from the final round proves otherwise.

Brooks Koepka caught putting on a glove without the ‘5’ signal

While swinging at the Par-5 Firethorn in the First Round, Koepka mastered the eagle stroke with a 5-iron. After getting into the greens, he managed to record a birdie on the 15th hole. However, before heading to the greens, Brooks was seen signaling ‘five’ while removing the glove to Woodland’s caddie, which could have been a message to use the 5-iron for a perfect stroke.

Moreover, Koepka’s caddie Ricky Elliot was also seen shouting ‘five’. Following the first round, the video went viral as both Koepka and Woodland were summoned by the Masters official for allegedly breaching USGA’s rule 10.2 (a) which refrains players from giving advice to fellow golfers. Though both men were proven innocent, a video from Brooks Koepka’s final round has emerged.

While walking with his final round partner and competitor, Jon Rahm, the LIV Golf star smoothly gets rid of his glove. Unclear if he was or wasn’t aware of the cameras around him, the video immediately went viral on Twitter.

With some supporting the golfer, one fan accused Tiger Woods’ caddie of also signaling signs. Nonetheless, similar to Koepka, he also wasn’t penalized.

Apart from the Woods’ critic, another fan also scrutinized Brooks by claiming how the co-founder of Masters Bobby Jones must be feeling in his grave. However other users chose the route of humor with one stating that Brooks was signaling ‘four iron’ in the video.

Though Brooks Koepka was not penalized, the decisions of the Masters officials can be crucial as the LIV Golf star is going toe to toe with John Rahm in the final round for winning the Green Jacket. Regardless if he wins it or not, Koepa did provide high-quality golf at Augusta National for the past four days.
