Everyone in the golf world is talking about the new changes the PGA Tour announced recently. It has become a topic of debate in the golf world, even though the changes will be implemented next year. While some people are on board with the recent developments, other professional golfers are against it. Another PGA Tour pro has expressed disapproval and compared the American Tour with the Saudi-backed, LIV Golf League.
The PGA Tour pro has finally spoken up about new announcements
Not many professional players have made any statement about the no-cut events. But veteran golfer, James Hahn, has finally spoken about it. Hahn said, “I’m gonna say exactly what 99.99 percent of fans said about players leaving for the LIV Tour. If our players just said, ‘We’re doing this for the money,’ I would have a lot more respect for them.” He further revealed the facts and showed disdain by saying, “they’re covering up what they’re doing and trying to make it a thing about sponsors and fans and saving opposite-field events. I think that’s all BS.”

According to the recent changes, 16 “designated” events will be in the 2024 season schedule. It will include four Major championship events, the Players Championship, along with three FedEx Cup Playoffs events, and eight other selected tournaments. The American Tour commissioner brought these changes to counterattack the hefty prize pool provided by the rival LIV Golf League. However, these changes received approval from former professional golfer, Paige Spiranac. She believes that change is essential for growth.

The anger led to disapproval by James Hahn
Hahn further talked about the ‘hypocritical‘ PGA Tour golfers and their silence on the matter. He said, “Right now, they’re just covering their arse and saying everything that the PGA Tour basically has trained them to say.” According to him, the golfers have reserved their authority to take a stand, because money is involved. He added, “have taught them to say and try to make it not about money when everyone knows 100 percent it’s about more guaranteed money being funneled to the top players in the world.”
According to him, the PGA Tour has “created these elevated events where it significantly impacts other full-field events sandwiched in between full-field events.” The golfer further talked about the elevated prize money, especially the PIP pool. He said, “We never should have gone to $100 million to begin with, but that’s $50 million we just threw away on this experiment.” According to him, the Tour is funneling money to a smaller group only because they were demanding it.
