In sports, a player’s biggest opponent is usually the other competitors who thrive to win the same prize. However, golf isn’t your regular sport. To master the 18-hole game, a person has to outshine himself or herself to defeat others. But all the hard work will go down in vain when nature’s wind pulls your golf ball far away from the hole, like the person who recently witnessed it at the Wolf Greek Golf Club.
Breeze is usually considered a challenging factor in the sport. Before making their shot, golfers consider the direction of the wind to anticipate their shots in the right direction. While the pros may find it less challenging to aim their shot with heavy winds around, it may be a nightmare for amateur and regular golfers.
A video posted by the Instagram account Smockpuv, shared his putting shot from the Wolf Creek Golf Course in Nevada. However, the shot despite being a few feet away from the hole didn’t go as per the plan of the golfer.

Heavy winds hijack a fun day of golf at Wolf Creek
Set in the mountains of Mesquite, Nevada, the golf course provides a beautiful view while playing golf. Though it may not have hosted any PGA Tour events, the course still featured in EA Sports’ golf games. Moreover, it also has won the Fan Choice award in 2011, making it one of the most fun courses to play in.
Tough day, indeed. 😳💨

However, that can’t be said with the latest video that has surfaced online. In the video, a man is on the greens of Wolf Greek Course, just a few feet away from the hole. He strikes the ball with a little more power hoping for it to swing back to the target with the help of the wind. However, the ball just misses the hole, making the avid golfer exhibit his frustration by saying, ‘No!’.

But the seconds of dismay continued for the golfer, as the ball proceeded to roll on and on slowly heading toward the rough. Though the video ends, the ball continued wheeling, thanks to the intense wind which could be identified through the heavy sound in the background. As Smockpuv posted it on Instagram, the golf world quickly noticed it, making it go viral.
Golf Digest also posted the video on their Twitter account. The golf world had its say on the video and showed support for the avid golfer through tweets. Let’s take a look at what they had to say:
This is atrocious on the greenskeeper. You know that wind is coming. Don't get the greens that fast

where can i get a putter with that much spin control

Law of physics would say that in order for the ball to come back in a straight line, it must come to a stop before it starts back downhill. Run up and mark it. I believe in science.

Mickleson would have played it a little differently
