Participating in the PNC Championship was a decision Tiger Woods made for the happiness of his son, Charlie Woods. Since 2020, the father-son pair has been competing in the event. And the pro-golfer didn’t want his leg injury to get in the way of creating another memorable moment with his son. However, after facing an injury at the pro-am yesterday, it seems that the 13-year-old will be the reason for their early event withdrawal!

Charlie Woods rolled his ankle while warming up for the pro-am at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. His discomfort in walking was evident all the while he played on Friday. Since the injury was not big, the golf world figured he wouldn’t have any issues at the main event. However, after playing a few holes in round 1, it seems that the injury still is a concern for the young golfer.

As one can see from the video a netizen posted on his Twitter profile, Charlie lost his footing after taking his tee shot in the first round of the PNC Championship. “It’s tough to see,” one of the commentators said after he fell because of his foot injury.

Charlie Woods is riding a golf cart with his father

Tiger Woods withdrew from the Hero World Challenge because he knew his leg wouldn’t allow him to walk all four rounds. However, he wanted to give it a shot at the PNC Championship, since he is only against using a cart during an official event, not in an unofficial event.

However, the cart helped his son more than Woods Sr. Charlie was visibly limping throughout the event and used his father’s cart to move from one hole to another. According to the commentators on the 8th hole, Woods jr. tried to hit balls with no shoes, with golf shoes, and then tried tennis shoes at the warmup today to know which would help him play better, despite the injury.

Golf fans’ reaction to young Woods falling while taking the tee-shot

The golf world anticipated Charlie would dominate the Orlando-based golf course this weekend. However, his injury from the day before made everyone concerned about him.
