Mike Lorenzo-Vera was born on January 28, 1985, in Biarritz in southwestern France. The professional golfer maintains an exceptionally private life and has rarely spoken much about it, so not much is known about his parents or childhood. However, back on July 21, 2023, he posted a picture with his father on a golf course. He had a golf club in his hand, and his father was probably guiding him through the shot.

That is the only family picture he has on his Instagram account. And it also means he started playing golf at a very young age and might’ve been taught under the guidance of his father. Additionally, he is also married and the couple are also known to have children together. Taking about his wife, once he gave her credit and said, “My wife had been talking to me for a while now about creating my academy”. This was when it became certain that he was married. However, neither the name of his wife has been revealed, nor is there any information about their kids online.

In 2006 and 2007 he claimed victory at the Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or, a title he had previously won as an amateur. His impressive performance in 2006 earned him 4th place on the Order of Merit, which secured his promotion to the Challenge Tour for the following year. However, that was only the beginning for the French golfer.

Mike Lorenzo-Vera’s golfing saga

He achieved a career-best 19th place in the Race to Dubai in 2019, highlighted by a third-place finish at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Turning professional in 2005, he made history in 2007 as the only Frenchman to claim the Challenge Tour Number One title, capping off a stellar season with a victory at the Challenge Tour Grand Final.

In 2008, he finished as runner-up at the Volvo China Open before competing on the Challenge Tour from 2010 to 2014. In 2018, he proudly represented France in two international events: the World Cup and GolfSixes, where the French team reached the final.

Among his last five appearances, he only bagged one top-10 finish at the Soudal Open in May, 2024. Post that, all his appearances have pretty much been unfortunate. However, he is all set to begin the 2025 season with an optimistic outlook, so that he can finally stand out. He will be appearing at the Hero Dubai Classic on January 16. Do you think the French Professional will perform to remember? Stay tuned to find out.
