The players competing at Harbour Town were unaffected by the pressure they had to go through at Augusta and had no poor impact on their performance. The majority of the top five finishers at Harbour Town Golf Links had participated in The Masters Tournament held the week before. Additionally, four out of the five had achieved a top 10 score at Augusta National, while Patrick Cantlay had finished with a score of T14.

Matt Fitzpatrick defeats RBC Heritage defending champion Jordan Spieth

None other than the champion, Matt Fitzpatrick, led the designated PGA event. He defeated the defending champion, Jordan Spieth, in the third hole. The win helped Fitzpatrick earn a whopping amount of $3,600,000, which was reserved for the winner.

The PGA Tour shared on its Twitter handle the beautiful shot that allowed Fitzpatrick to take the title home, with the caption,This shot earned @MattFitz94 the trophy and an additional $1,420,000. He earned $3,600,000 this week @RBC_Heritage.”

2023 RBC Champion, Fitzpatrick, used a nine iron to hit the master shot, and well, nine iron has been lucky for him. In 2022, with a “squeezy fade,” as Fitzpatrick described it, he hit a 9-iron that began near the steep lip, went over the front bunker, and landed 18 feet away.

Payouts and points of RBC Heritage 2023

RBC Heritage is the designated PGA event. In other words, the payouts were huge. According to the PGA Tour’s article, the winner took a lucrative amount of $3.6 Million home, along with 500 FedEx points. The runner-up took $2.18 Million with him and 300 FedEx points. The golfer coming in last got $39,800 to take home. The payouts in the RBC Heritage were attractive for sure.
