While Jeter had the interview with GQ magazine in 2011, he mentioned the film, saying, “I’m probably going to go home and watch a movie. I’m going to watch The Roommate. It’s a new one. Just came out today. Go check it out.” The interviewer later wrote how it was a rare acknowledgment on Jeter’s part to share his private life ongoing.

At the end of the interview, when Jeter climbed into his car, he again noted, saying, “Remember: The Roommate. Seriously. Check it out. It’s worth it.” Thus, going against his tradition of hiding his private life. 

The eventual outcome of the relationship 

Jeter and Kelly broke up and separated ways in 2011. Still involved in his playing career at that time, Jeter couldn’t strike a proper balance in the relationship. Moreover, both Jeter and Kelly were equally focused on their professional progress. Therefore, the relationship couldn’t extend to an accurate destination.
