According to Cardone, “But the Federal Government and the State of New York are going to crush this guy. Probably 20 million a year, I would expect, somewhere about 20 million a year times 9.” This would mean that Judge would pay $180 million of his contract in taxes. Cardone put that into context by saying that the Yankees star would effectively be paying 4.5 years of his contract to the Government.

The $600 million investor also said that this applies to musicians, rappers, actors, and other high earners. Cardone even offered Judge some advice on how to reduce the taxes he pays and increase his earning potential. The Yankees legend actually had the chance to earn more money than the $360 million contract he signed and would have ended up paying more in taxes.

Aaron Judge signed a $360 million deal to play the rest of his career with the Yankees. Furthermore, while doing so, he rejected a $400 million deal with the Padres. This was a move made out of loyalty and the desire to build a legacy. But by rejecting the 10-year deal, he also inadvertently avoided having to pay an extra year of Government taxes.
