Go big or go home! This statement has never been truer than in today’s world of intense competition. With more opportunities than ever before, people are showcasing their talent to the world. This means it’s even harder for individuals to make it big unless they have something unique. And the baseball world has lately discovered this the hard way.
On Feb. 10th, MLB player Justin Bour announced his retirement. After a six-year career in the big leagues, and some additional short stints in minor and international leagues, the 34-year-old is hanging up his uniform. Bour has played for big names like the Miami Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies, and Nippon Professional Baseball in his repertoire. But now, it looks like the first baseman is taking a different direction, and fans wish him the best.

Bour started playing professional baseball in 2009. And while playing for the different clubhouse, the former slugger made quite a reputation for himself. What’s more, judging by the way people reacted to his retirement news, the former Marlins player is very well-liked. While it’s not exactly a rarity in the cut-throat world of baseball, it’s still a pleasure to witness.
Bour thanked his family and his parents for their unwavering support for the time he has needed to devote to baseball. And along with fans, the former first baseman’s ex-colleagues congratulated him on a great career.

Justin, you were a pleasure to watch during your time with the Marlins. For what it's worth, I think you're the only player in franchise history to break up a no-hitter with two outs in the ninth.
