There is a reason why the Yankees fans and the media targeted him in New York. Gallo played almost one and a half seasons for the Pinstripes, but the star left fielder failed to leave his mark in the Bronx. Even Gallo admitted he was a failure at the New York Yankees.

And now, when Gallo is finally having some good time for his new franchise, the LA Dodgers, the star left-fielder, opened up about his struggles and failure with the Pinstripes. What is more remarkable about Gallo’s character is that he did not say a word about blaming the Yankees for his poor performances.

Joey Gallo and the Yankees were just not a perfect match

It is no secret that Joey Gallo was just horrible from the plate for the New York Yankees. Even when the Yankees traded him to the Dodgers, MLB fans left surprised on why a top team like the Dodgers bet on a struggling player. But it seems like the Dodgers have been spot on with their decision.

Recently, while talking about his tenure at the Yankees, Gallo said he still wishes the best for his former team. And he does not have any hard feelings for the Yankees. Gallo himself admitted he did not play well for the Pinstripes.

“I want the best for those guys. I love those guys. Just because I got traded doesn’t mean I have any hard feelings for any of them. There’s nothing the Yankees were doing wrong. I just didn’t play well there,” Joey Gallo said. 

“I wish I played better. My time was up there. It’s been a nice transition.”

Gallo has been a lucky charm in MLB

Even though Gallo did not play well for the Yankees, he was a lucky charm for the Pinstripes. With Joey Gallo playing by their side, the Yankees dominated the American League during the entire first half of the 2022 MLB season.
