The former Yankee, whose birthday is on July 27, and the singer’s come on July 24, decided to throw one massive and lavish birthday party on July 22, 2017. The duo celebrated their birthdays together in Miami. Where A-Rod wore a blue suit with a white shirt, and JLo wore a sheer black mini dress with an ab-baring cut-out.

As the two stood in front of the towering six-tier birthday cake decorated with their names, they sang along and danced to Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline.’ They enjoyed their hearts out with one of the best-selling musicians of all time, Neil Diamond’s hit single. 

This is the tradition the Red Sox follow in every home game after the eighth inning since 1997. 

A tribute became a tradition!

In 1997, an employee of the BoSox who was in charge of the music played the song Sweet Caroline as a tribute to a friend. The employee’s friend had just given birth to a baby named Caroline.

Since then, the song caught on. And the words, ‘Sweet Caroline’ have become symbols of Boston in the past two decades.
