Corey Seager is one step closer to his childhood hero and one step ahead of him in one aspect. When Seager signed a huge $325 million contract with Texas Rangers, some questioned the team. The last time they had something like this was with Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez in 2001 and it did not work out for them. This time, however, things were different. There was a connection in the team, a strong support. The first season, however, was not very good. And then in the second, they won the World Series.
Corey Seager is now a two-time World Series winner. He is also a two-time World Series MVP. This is something that even his favorite player Derek Jeter has not done. In this highly emotional situation, there was quite a wholesome moment shared by Seager and his wife Madisyn.

In Game 5 as well, Seager was the first one to record a hit and a run for Rangers. This was after 6 innings of zero hits. With this win, Corey Seager’s name might be forever etched in the lore of the Texas Rangers. Fans had their hearts blooming after watching the two embracing each other. “This is love”, “Corey is winning on and off the field” were the words that filled the post’s comment section.
Seager’s performance across the World Series
Corey Seager had a terrific World Series. He batted at an average of .286 and hit three home runs. He became only the second player to hit home runs in consecutive World Series after Derek Jeter. Apart from this, it was his clutch home run in Game 1 that completely turned the game on its head.

Defensively too, Seager was impeccable. A Shortstop is traditionally the toughest position in the field. Seager ended the series with zero defensive errors. For a shortstop, this is a big achievement. Thus overall, whether by bat or through fielding, Seager’s contribution to the Rangers was immense. In a way in Lone Stars, he proved to be the biggest “Lone Star”.
