Earning a spot in the Hall of Fame is the crown jewel of any baseball player’s career. It’s the cherry on top of the sundae, the cream of the crop, the ultimate accolade. For those who have the privilege of being inducted, it’s the realization of a lifelong dream and the ultimate validation of their hard work and dedication to the sport. Similarly, two days back, the BBWAA voted third baseman Scott Rolen into the Hall of Fame with a 76.3% majority amidst the likes of Alex Rodriguez and Gary Sheffield.

Following his entry into Cooperstown, the Cardinals World Champion, who played for the Phillies, Blue Jays, and Reds in his 17-season-long MLB career, reached the iconic Hall of Fame wall to complete traditions and put his signature on it. And while doing so, he made sure to sign next to his “man doc.”

Who did Scott Rolen sign next to on the iconic Hall of Fame wall?
With seven All-Star appearances, Rolen played with the Blue Jays in 2008, where he first met two-time Cy Young pitcher Roy Halladay. Halladay spent the majority of his career with the Blue Jays. And he was nicknamed “Doc” by a local announcer.

Alex Rodriguez gets snubbed again
While Scott Rolen found his way into the Hall of Fame, 696-homer man Alex Rodriguez was snubbed this year as well, in his second attempt at entry into Cooperstown. Despite his long list of accolades, A-Rod’s history with steroids makes his potential entry skeptical. And mostly improbable in the upcoming future. On his first try, he recorded a 34.3% ballot. This year, at 35.7% votes, while there was an improvement, it was negligible, to say the least.
