3 MMA Organizations Reject Anderson Silva for a Contract Prospect

Anderson Silva is one of the most decorated fighters the UFC has ever seen. He is one of the names on which the company was built. ‘The Spider’ dominated the middleweight division for the better part of a decade and made world-class fighters look like amateurs during his reign as the champion.
‘The Spider’ has been let go from his UFC contract and now is a free agent. Even at 45, Silva is still keen on fighting. He has been looking for a promotion to ply his trade; however, he has not been successful in his quest.

Anderson Silva continues his search for a new organization
BKFC President, David Feldman stated, “At this time we are not interested in Anderson Silva competing for BKFC. He’s a legend and I loved watching him fight. We need to concentrate on building our fighters already signed to BKFC” (via BJPENN.com)
Silva fought for the last time in the UFC against Uriah Hall. Fans and pundits alike thought that it would be Anderson’s last fight as a professional. However, he insisted that he is not done yet and would like to continue fighting.

In the post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White stated that he is no longer interested in allowing ‘The Spider’ to continue fighting. Subsequently, he released the former champion from his contract.

Since then, ‘The Spider‘ has been searching for a new home. So far, the search has not been going well. Bellator MMA head honcho Scott Coker in a recent interview stated that he is not interested in signing Anderson Silva and is more focused on the current roster.
PFL President Ray Sefo also stated that his organization is not interested in signing ‘The Spider’. Instead, he suggested that it is time for The Brazilian to hang up his gloves.

With a number of top MMA promotions not interested in signing him, options are now slim for Anderson and it does not look like he will be fighting anytime soon.
