The much-anticipated lightweight title fight between Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira is one step closer to reality. Recent reports suggest that a fight between the two is almost a done deal. ‘The Diamond’ and ‘Do Bronx’ are likely to face off for the 155-pound title as the headliner for UFC 269 scheduled for December 11th. The venue for the same is not confirmed at this point in time.
There were a lot of doubts among fans and pundits alike about the fight. In recent interviews, it did not appear that ‘The Diamond’ was rushing for a title shot. His back and forth with Nate Diaz a few weeks back suggested that he might opt for another big payday over a title shot once again. However, all that has been put to bed as the UFC has once again done what it does the best, moved to schedule fights between the best fighters in the world.
