‘If He Was A Fighter, He’d Never Give Up’- Khabib Nurmagomedov Reveals How Dana White Has Still Been Calling Him

Former UFC lightweight champion and MMA icon, Khabib Nurmagomedov, retired from the sport as the undefeated and undisputed champion. The Dagestani juggernaut achieved everything possible in his grasp and created an aura that could be matched by a few only.
Recently, ‘The Eagle’ appeared for an interview. He talked about his UFC days and other stuff including Dana White’s continuous efforts to bring him back.
“If he was a fighter, he’d never give up,” Khabib said. “He could be knocked off or choked but would never give up on his own. I’m positive.”

“You know a few days ago — I don’t know whether I can go on record, (Ali) Abdelaziz called me a few weeks ago. He asked me, ‘Do you know what Dana White asked me?’ and told me (Dana asked), ‘Why does Khabib (Nurmagomedov) never ask me how much money I can offer for his return?”
“I asked Abdelaziz, ‘This is the question for me through you or what?’ And he told me, ‘Nah, Dana just asked.'”
‘The Eagle’ then said he has already told many times he won’t be returning. He has achieved everything there is to be achieved.

According to him, the management thinks they could allure him for a big price but that’s not the case. He concluded by saying, “I believe they will understand me and my choice, eventually.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov compares UFC life as being in prison
Khabib retired following his match with Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. He had lost his father earlier in 2020, which triggered his intentions of not fighting anymore. And he decided to live a normal life.
“I am living the life of an ordinary person, not the one of a professional athlete,” Nurmagomedov said. “I think living the life of an athlete is somewhat close to being held in a prison.”
