F1’s popularity in the USA has grown a lot in the last couple of years. Netflix’s show Drive to Survive has brought in a lot of young and energetic fans to the sport. However, many may argue that NASCAR still has an upper hand and is a much more prominent sport in the US.
Amid all this, McLaren driver Lando Norris has now come out to say that F1 is a cooler sport compared to NASCAR and IndyCar.

Right after saying so, Norris also showered praise on the other motorsport categories in his interview with Le Batard and Friends. He even revealed that one day he would like to try NASCAR and IndyCar.
“I’m not gonna lie, I’m a massive fan of NASCAR. I’ve never done it and I would love the opportunity to go and drive a NASCAR. Maybe not do an oval because they are scary and you gotta be a bit crazy to do those kinds of things.”
“But to drive a NASCAR and go to IndyCar, not a race, but a test and drive that as well. I have a massive amount of respect for these drivers. I actually do enjoy watching NASCAR and maybe some people will hate me for saying that and I love watching IndyCar.“ said the McLaren driver.

The McLaren driver revealed he enjoys watching NASCAR contrary to the opinion. But he feels F1 supersedes the other categories, such as NASCAR and IndyCar in terms of technology and performance.
“We’re much cooler than NASCAR and we’re much cooler than IndyCar as well… But I think in terms of technology, racing, and just the level of everything in terms of performance instead of drivers, engineers, and everything. I think we’re much above everything else,” said Norris.
