Days after HMS Driver’s Adversity Left Rick Hendrick Worrying, Denny Hamlin Reveals Joe Gibbs’s Stern Rule- “C Bell Is Not Allowed to Do It”
As of recent days, a few NASCAR drivers seem to be having a tough time outside of the races. While drivers tend to engage in other sporting events to relieve themselves from the highly competitive and stressful world of the Cup series, it can have serious consequences. Recently, yet another HMS driver, Alex Bowman, fell victim to an unfortunate off-track accident. With this week’s Action Detrimental podcast rolling out, veteran Denny Hamlin discusses it from a team owner’s perspective and shares some insights.
Recently, Hamlin expressed his thoughts on the matter. Interestingly, the #11 driver shared his skepticism given his earlier stance on the subject. The veteran driver also revealed the “policy” Joe Gibbs follows within the JGR garage, citing his teammate’s case.

With the recent happenings in the NASCAR world, HMS has been the worst affected, with unforeseen circumstances playing the villain as Bowman has been sidelined with serious injuries suffered during a Sprint Race. Ironically, Bowman confirmed his off time on social media just days after his teammate Chase Elliott joined the team after recovering from his accident.
With this in the background, Hamlin sat down with his co-host Jared Allen to discuss the consequences you face as a team owner with hundreds of employees on each team. He took the example of his teammate Christopher Bell.
Mentioning his team boss, Joe Gibbs, Hamlin said, “You know Joe, and he’s got a different policy on Sprint car racing for sure. Obviously C Bell’s not allowed to do it. You know a lot of his reasoning is that, listen I got hundreds of employees that are counting on you to be the leader of our team.”
At the end, I don’t know: Hamlin shares his skepticism as he admits his confusion

Hamlin admitted his confusion on the matter, saying, “And you know, I don’t know at the end, I don’t know where I stand on it.
