NASCAR’s newly proclaimed villain just turned 43 years old. While the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran has resigned with coach, Joe Gibbs, he is yet to rack a win a title despite being in the game for close to 20 years. But can he become a champion even at this age? That’s the million-dollar question that rings in the fans’ heads.

Despite the shattered title hopes, Hamlin had a grand 43rd birthday that included a surprise from his parents. Taking things to his social media, the veteran shared the photographs in a thread for his ardent following who were warmed to see the sweet gesture from the driver’s parents.

Denny Hamlin gets a sweet note and a “special meal” from his parents as the driver turns 43

A day before the F1 extravaganza went down in Vegas, NASCAR’s most outspoken veteran, Denny Hamlin turned 43. The JGR driver took to his Instagram to share snippets of his birthday week in a thread of 10. Hamlin shared pictures of him with his friends and close ones on the social media platform for his followers.

This included photographs and short clips of the driver with his buddies while they visited the Vegas GP, a photograph of the driver along with the F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton, and the popular golf coach who goes by, Manolo teaches golf. But what caught the community’s attention was the driver’s parent’s sweet and loving gesture of sending him a note along with a “special family” meal, celebrating his birthday.

The Note read, “For 43 years we have shared our family’s special meal. It’s our celebration of your birthday. The most important day of our lives. Love you. Mom & Dad.” Much like the meal’s love and warmth, Hamlin’s post was proof of parents’ undying affection towards their children no matter their age.

With the Formula 1 bandwagon making a stop in Las Vegas for the motorsports giant’s Sin City debut, NASCAR nation along with the racing world was awaiting an epic showdown. While the practice session of Sunday’s race started off on the wrong foot, racing fans were thrilled to see the action.

However, not everyone was mesmerized by the F1 circus, Team Penske’s Austin Cindric instead took a sharp jab poking one, mentioning the 7-time F1 champion, Hamilton. In his tweet, Cindric wrote, You buy a general admission ticket (at NASCAR), and you can come take a selfie with your favorite driver and get an autograph nine times out of 10, whereas if I go to [a] Formula 1 race, I’m never seeing Lewis Hamilton.”

While the driver’s intention seemed like it was a general comparison, Hamlin had a befitting reply – one that would get the average fan thinking. Hamlin said, “If something is easy to get it’s usually not very valuable.”

Yes, getting Hamilton’s signature is priceless but does it have to be at fans’ expense? Expense in the sense, do the promotions have to put champion drivers on a pedestal. After all, it’s the fans that made them popular.
