Last weekend’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway showcased fantastic driving expertise from reigning champion Joey Logano. The last lap battle ended with Logano gaining the advantage over his competitors as he got the chequered flag. Recently, fellow driver and competitor Denny Hamlin took out time to praise the smart skill set of the Team Penske Driver and the interesting strategy of his team to win the race. He won the race even though the odds were stacked against Logano in the final few laps of the race.

What did Denny Hamlin say about Joey Logano?

During his podcast Actions Detrimental, Hamlin mentioned, “Even though even when the numbers are stacked against them, like, they just do it so well they find a way to upfront, especially the Penske guys.”

“You saw Joey kind of play some games at the end of the stage. You don’t want to lap the 12-car. Because he knew he was going to need them at the end of the race. That was so smart…”

He further added, “but it was so smart and strategic because he kept one of his allies in the race, right? Someone that he knows that when he’s behind them, he’s going to push them no matter where he goes.”

“And so they just do an extremely good job of working together and you see the results of it. That’s just a fact,” Hamlin concluded.
