Earlier in January, the University of Georgia Bulldogs won the CFP National Championship Game for the second consecutive year. Defeating Texas Christian University 65–7, the Bulldogs created history by registering the most points scored by a team ever in college football playoffs. Unfortunately though, the die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan Chase Elliott could not witness this historic moment in person. But that does not mean he didn’t make up for his absence.

During a recent conversation with eminent journalist Bob Pockrass, Chase Elliott provided a candid account of his favorite team’s historic win. When Pockrass asked if Elliott attended the match in person, the Hendrick Motorsports driver admitted, “No. I didn’t go. I feel if it was anywhere closer than Los Angeles, I probably would have considered. But it was long ways out there and we are fixing to go, just a couple weeks. So, stayed home, watched it on TV. But the result was fine with me. It was probably not extremely exciting to watch. But for Georgia fans, it was good.”

Although Elliott could not make it to the playoffs, he made sure to show his support throughout the match. Since the match was dominated by the Bulldogs from the first quarter itself, a lot of fans began celebrating the Bulldog’s win way before the match ended. However, Elliott did not budge.

When Bob Pockrass asked if Elliott changed the channel, Elliott said, “No, I watched all the way. Watched all the way through. Personally, I enjoyed every second. I thought it was good.”

However, Elliott’s love for the team is not a one-sided affair. Be it by posting a Chase Elliott portrait on #WallpaperWednesday or inviting the 2020 Cup Series champion to the College Football Hall of Fame tour, Bulldogs always come up with a way to show their support for Elliott.

Glad to be a part of the Georgia family, Elliott appreciates the support. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Elliott said, “I appreciate the state and the people in it, our fellow sports teams that have always considered me part of the family… These are teams that I’m a fan of, too. I’m no different than anybody else. I’m just a guy who loves seeing the Braves do well and loves seeing Georgia win, too.”
