“Have to Be Able to Accept Defeat” – Bubba Wallace Gives Important Advice to Aspiring NASCAR Drivers

Bubba Wallace is quickly becoming one of the big names on the NASCAR circuit. The young driver, who is still working towards establishing himself as a consistent runner at the front of the grid, has raced enough to know the demands and challenges of the sport.
Having said that, Wallace had some advice for the young and aspiring drivers who are looking to make their way to the top leagues in the sport. The former driver of the no. 43 Cup Series car stressed the challenges of racing in NASCAR and what it takes to be successful.
He feels that younger drivers should prepare to face and accept defeat in a sport like this.

Bubba Wallace gives useful advice to youngsters
“It’s a hard-fought battle, all the way to the top. A lot of losing, you have to be able to accept defeat in the sport to be successful,” Wallace had said during an interview when asked about what he would tell kids wanting to be race car drivers.
Wallace is already competing against some of the top stars of the sport, racers who have won so much since they began their NASCAR careers. He also entered the Cup Series at a time when the sport saw many former stars stepping down and youngsters entering the fray.
When asked if he feels the pressure to carry on the legacy of star drivers, Wallace’s reply displayed his confidence in himself.
“The pressure is there. But I’m trying to create my own legacy,” he said.

Still searching for a Cup Series win, it might not seem that far away for Wallace, going into the 2021 season. He will drive the no. 23 Cup Series car for 23XI Racing, co-owned by Denny Hamlin and NBA great Michael Jordan.
The two sporting greats promised to give Wallace much better equipment at the new team, and they are all working hard to help Wallace utilize his talents to be a top contender. A technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing, along with Toyota’s involvement as manufacturer, certainly boosts the team’s chances.

Winless in 112 races, Wallace has certainly learned to accept defeat, as he earlier expressed. However, he is now keen to convert his impressive runs into race wins, thus creating his own ‘legacy’ in NASCAR.
