What’s another caution in a race full of cautions? Looks like that’s what Josh Williams was wondering during Saturday’s Xfinity race at Atlanta. Bringing out a caution in the most bizarre way possible, Williams dramatically parked his car at the Atlanta Motor Speedway start/finish line and walked straight towards the garage while waving at the fans. A weirdly bold yet troublesome way of sending a message across.

Hence, in a recent episode of Door Bumper Clear, Williams’ actions in Atlanta naturally became a matter of debate. However, while discussing if the #92 driver should or should not be charged with a penalty, the show’s co-host and Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft shared some ‘life-saving’ advice with Josh Williams.

Brett Griffin asks how this was different from Kyle Busch’s temper tantrum

In the podcast, he said, “Here’s where you messed up Josh, let me tell you this now. If you would have just said the car wouldn’t steer anymore, you could have got off like Kyle did for parking his car last year and getting out of Darlington.”

Furthermore, he, along with Freddie Kraft, joked about how Williams could have popped up his car’s hood to convey that there was actually a problem with the car.

Explaining how Kyle Busch escaped a penalty at Darlington, Freddie Kraft shared, “Kyle did the same thing. Kyle Busch did the exact same thing last year. Drove down pit road at Darlington, the year or couple of years before he got a fine for hitting the cones. So, he just parked on the pit road, got out, and walked off. We slowed the race down just as much. We held the pit road opening because the 18 was parked in the middle of the pit road.”

However, this forced his co-host, Brett Griffin, to ask how the two incidents were different. Griffin said, “Is that temper tantrum different than Josh’s temper tantrum?”

Revealing that it was Busch’s response that makes it different, Kraft simply said, “The only way it is different is that Kyle said that the car wouldn’t steer. Only reason it is different.”

Short answer? Because he was frustrated. During Saturday’s Xfinity race, Williams’ #92 car got caught in a three-car crash on Lap 28. As reported by ESPN, while the car was pitted for repairs, his crew tried hard to keep the vehicle intact by papering over the cracks. However, this couldn’t stop the debris from spewing on the track, bringing out a caution due to it on Lap 32.

Due to debris falling off of William’s car, NASCAR officials ordered him to bring his vehicle back to the garage, sending it out of the race. And an upset Williams decided to display his frustration by parking the vehicle at the start/finish line.
