As of late, NASCAR is making the right moves, the right turns, and the right decisions in exploring and expanding its audience and fanbase. In the last few years, the governing body has taken several aggressive and bold decisions in things like the schedule, the racetracks, and even the racecar to push the envelope a little bit more.

And in most cases, barring a few hiccups, at first, has worked. But not everything is going right for NASCAR. You see, there’s one aspect of the sport today, which historically is very important, but in today’s world, its importance is perhaps even more.
It’s the games. NASCAR’s official games are, well, let’s just say, not in a good state right now.

Motorsport Games going through a big crisis at this moment
The reason for the games not being in a good state lately isn’t because of the usual problems with games like glitches or bugs which can easily be fixed by the developers or the technicians. No.

The reason is the company itself which makes the games. Motorsport Games has recently been in the headlines, and not for good reasons. The company is going through a crisis both in terms of finances and its workforce.
In fact, things are so bad that not only did they suffer losses of upwards of $35 million in 2022, but they’re also on the verge of being handed a lawsuit by their own employees. This had really infuriated the fans a lot recently.
But the recent development in this whole saga has enraged the NASCAR fans even more.

NASCAR fans are not happy
According to reporter Mike Straw, Motorsport Games didn’t even do the basic work on the latest iteration of the NASCAR game. “Sources tell me that NASCAR 23 never fully made it out of the design stage,” Straw tweeted.

“‘The game was never going to be a reality this year. After a while, everyone just assumed it would be another update,’ one source said. More to come in a new story (hopefully) later this week.”
This was something that naturally riled up the fans.

With that said, are you hopeful Motorsport Games will turn it around and deliver the bare minimum? Or do you think NASCAR gaming is doomed? If so, what solution do you propose as a fan?
