As the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series steadily carries on, there is a massive question mark about Kyle Busch. With his seat not confirmed at Joe Gibbs Racing, will he have to look elsewhere in the future?

One option could be Trackhouse Racing, who are in very fine form. However, with Ross Chastain bringing in the lion’s share, will it be at the expense of Daniel Suarez?

NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin said in a podcast, “Honestly, for what you’re paying Daniel Suarez and his international appeal. The fact that Carlos Slim is on his frequent caller list, there’s a lot of reasons why Daniel Suarez makes a lot of sense. There’s a lot of reasons why Trackhouse is doing good things.”

“I mean you did bring in Kimi Raikkonen and he practiced well. He didn’t qualify well, but he practiced Top 20, that’s freaking impressive. He was running really well in a part-time car with a part-time pit crew.”

What did he say about Kyle Busch, Daniel Suarez, and Kimi Raikkonen?

According to Griffin, the likes of Chase Elliott did not become road course experts, overnight. It was largely down to him being in one of the best cars on the NASCAR Cup grid.

Now, the likes of Suarez and even Kimi Raikkonen are proof of that, as both drivers were in really good race cars. In Raikkonen’s case, the team was just a temporary one, but they knew that their race craft was good.

At the end of the day though, a driver like Suarez has proven that he is quick, and he has a sponsor to back him up. This comes in the form of Mexico’s richest man, Carlos Slim. The America Movil and Telmex CEO has a reported net worth of $82.1 billion and has sponsored a fair number of sports persons.

All in all, Suarez could be a smart investment, even though Busch is the more high-profile name. The #18 driver is also a talented driver and has two NASCAR Cup Series titles to his name. Without a doubt, he will be a hot property in the driver’s market, but his main problem is the lack of a sponsor.
