NASCAR’s Richest-Ever Driver Dale Earnhardt Jr’s New Launch Leaves Americans Buzzing & International Fans Upset

Hall of Fame driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr is all set to narrate the behind-the-scenes story of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series. The semi-retired professional stock car racing driver has stepped up as the Executive Producer for USA’s ‘Race of Championship.’ The unscripted series will air its premiere on USA Network on September 1, 2022, at 10 pm ET. 

The series focuses on providing an insight into the lives of elite NASCAR drivers and teams. It will also share a glimpse of how the athletes balance their personal relationships along with the pressure of performing in the competition.

It will be the perfect combination of action, adventure, drama, and challenges. The series will feature past champions like Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Joey Logano, among others. Besides that, it will also feature the journey of upcoming talent waiting to create history.

Consisting of 10 episodes, the series will document and share a glimpse of the lives of NASCAR drivers – both on-track and off-track. Excited about his new project, Dale Earnhardt Jr told Variety, “I have such a passion and love for the sport that I feel like this type of content is something that our fans are starving for.”

It is safe to say that Dale Earnhardt Jr has got it right. With a net worth of about $300 million, the race car driver has invested in a project that the fans would love.

NASCAR followers are more than ecstatic about the news. Applauding Earnhardt Jr and the initiative, the fans couldn’t stop themselves from commenting on Variety’s Tweet announcing the project. 

Dale Earnhardt Jr. talked about what exactly motivated him to take on the project. He explained, “We need to give everyone a better opportunity to get to know the individuals that are involved in NASCAR.”

Furthermore, calling the ‘Race of the Championship’ initiative “a great opportunity,” Earnhardt Jr continued that the series can “put a very human element into what we do and into our identity. It’s something I think that should have a profound impact on perception of the sport and also to give our fans a deeper dive into each individual.”

However, a few NASCAR Cup Series fans had a mixed reaction. The fans are indeed happy about the initiative. But NASCAR enthusiasts outside the USA complained that they will not be able to enjoy the series.

A few NASCAR Cup Series fans expressed their discontent with not being able to watch the series outside the USA. Moreover, the unavailability of American, basic cable TV channel, USA Network in these regions would be an issue for fans residing outside the States.

Owing to this, followers from the UK as well as Canada complained about the same through their Tweets.

Hopefully, Dale Earnhardt Jr and NASCAR can find a way to help these international fans enjoy the series. Until then, USA fans are ready to dive deeper into the lives of their favorite drivers. Apart from Earnhardt Jr, NASCAR Studios, along with Tim Clark, Chaz Gray, Matt Summers, Tally Hair, and Amy Anderson will co-produce the series.
