With 35 Cup Series wins, a championship title, and a place among NASCAR’s 75 greatest drivers, Brad Keselowski has a remarkable track record. However, recent revelations of under-confidence have sparked concerns about his performance. As fans eagerly anticipate his next move, the pressure is on for Keselowski to prove himself once again.

In a recent interview, he expressed the challenges he faces, the need for a faster car under him, and the importance of capitalizing on every opportunity. As he hopes for a strong finish, Keselowski’s determination to overcome setbacks is truly remarkable.

For Keselowski, the path to victory is clear, he simply needs a faster car. But in a recent interview, he dives deeper into the issue that RFK Racing is dealing with. He recognizes the progress his team has made but acknowledges the areas where improvement is needed. As the Ford cars continue to face challenges at certain tracks, Keselowski remains focused on controlling what he can and pushing his team to deliver their best.

When asked about the rest of the season in an interview during the Chicago weekend, he said, “I would not be surprised to see two new winners. Hopefully, we’re one of them. But, if that’s not the case, we have both of our cars on the bubble, which is not a good place to be.

“So, we look at these next [eight] weeks, and we’d like to win. But, that’s every week. In absence of that, we need to be really perfect. We need to capitalize on the opportunities in front of us and avoid any pitfalls or mistakes. Looking at that, it’s a tense few weeks.”

He was also asked about his current Ford car and the challenges of the two upcoming road course races.

“We know that’s not going to be easy,” Keselowski replied, adding, “We know that’s a big challenge. We’re still in this mixture of emotion where we’re significantly proud of the progress we’ve made in most given weeks. We’re in a spot to be one of the best Ford cars.

“We know that the Fords are not where we want them to be. But we can’t let that be our excuse. We just need a little bit more vehicle speed. The vehicle speed can be frustrating. Some of it you control. Some of it, you don’t. There is always an opportunity to improve those things, and they show up in different moments.”

Keselowski’s departure from Team Penske was a calculated risk driven by his desire to reach new heights. In a candid revelation, he discussed the contract negotiations and other factors that led to his decision. Although aware of the setback it entailed, Keselowski believed in the importance of humbling oneself to progress further.

While acknowledging the potential he recognized at Team Penske, he believes that circumstances held him back from achieving his true capabilities. In one of his past interviews, he said, “I can’t bulls**t it, but the timing’s not right to fully disclose it….there was some other pieces that happened behind the scenes with some contract negotiations that I was having with Penske.”

He also commented, “I feel like my situation at hand when I was at Team Penske didn’t give me an opportunity to fully recognize that potential, I had the opportunity to recognize a lot of it, but not…all the way.”

He admitted that it was a move that would drop him down the grid. But the following comment captures his thoughts perfectly: “I knew it was going to be a step backward in my career. There’s no question. But I’m a firm believer. Sometimes, you have to humble yourself and you have to take a step or two back before you can take three or four forward. I’m just now getting to a spot where it looks like I’m getting close to even where I was at Pensky.”
