‘Renderings Look Pretty Cool’ – Kyle Busch Expresses Interest in Driving Tony Stewart’s SRX Series

The Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) series by Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham is all set to make its debut this year in June. One driver who we might see in the competition is Kyle Busch.
The Joe Gibbs Racing superstar would of course primarily have to contend with his NASCAR commitments. But seemingly, Busch has also shown interest in driving in the upcoming racing series, which begins later this year.
Busch said, “Yeah, I mean that would be pretty cool too. I have not seen those cars or have seen what they have kind of in the plans for those cars, but the renderings look pretty cool.”

“But hey, I’m game for driving about anything so I think it would be cool. I think I’ve seen their schedule.”
The official SRX Twitter handle had earlier reached out to eight NASCAR drivers, with Busch included in the list. Responding to that tweet, the JGR No.18 had indicated his ‘readiness’ for driving in the series.
Busch continued, “They’re going to some short tracks and dirt tracks and road courses, so I’d enjoy getting on that action and going out there and put myself up against the best of many others.”
Considering his NASCAR commitments across all three national series, the calendar may just be touch-and-go for Busch to race in the SRX. But there is a chance to participate in it, considering the SRX races are reportedly scheduled to take place on Saturday nights.

SRX has already signed up quite a few big-name drivers to compete in its six-race tourney. The likes of Stewart himself, Bill Elliott, Tony Kanaan, and Mark Webber are among the names confirmed so far.
Some people say that the competition is an elegant throwback to the renowned International Race of Champions (IROC) format. With live broadcast viewing confirmed, the races are scheduled to take place between June-July 2021.
