Functioning within an organization that is ripped with cut-throat competition, teamwork becomes the only viable option to survive, and Kaulig Racing is surely a torch bearer. Keeping aside internal feuds and teammate rivalry, Matt Kaulig’s team has surely surpassed all expectations. Moreover, in a short period of time, since its inception back in 2016 has surely ridden high on success with victories coming from all three series.

One can surely thank Justin Haley for bringing the sole Cup Series victory after his win in Daytona. Nevertheless, the team’s success also lies in the execution of the perfect teamwork among the drivers without compromising the racing.

In his conversation with Dale Earnhardt Jr, Justin Haley also revealed how the narrative from being a struggling team to churning victories in the Xfinity Series had shifted after its technical alliance with Richard Childress. Moreover, the team also purchased a shop adjacent to RCR in order to maintain its alliance with Richard Childress.

Haley expressed, “We have the RCR cars now that are obviously in there. They weren’t there when we [Haley, AJ Allmendinger, Ross Chastain] were doing it.” To this Junior asked, “Were you all building your cars?”

The Daytona winner retorted, “It’s always been RCR stuff, RCR chassis and bodies and motors and everything and we still do. I mean it’s all RCR stuff. But the RCR cars weren’t there, you didn’t have Austin Hill, Sheldon Creed. You just didn’t have RCR cars there in the field, the house cars so, whatever was going on, I don’t know what it was but our three cars there was some serious speed in them.”

The driver also asserted how the teammates were able to keep aside their ‘egos’ and perform together in a coherent manner and not be aggressive to each other.
