NASCAR has witnessed some insane rivalries in the past. Without a doubt, the one between Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr remains one of the most entertaining. Both racers are outspoken and it has only added more fuel to their feuds. Kyle Busch registered his 61st NASCAR Cup Series win last Sunday at the Auto Club 400 and there was something about it that did not please Junior.

The win was a memorable one for Busch since it was his first with his new team Richard Childress Racing. While many discarded his chances of succeeding with RCR, this was the perfect way to silence his critics. Recently, Dale Jr had things to comment on after Busch’s return to victory lane.

Dale Earnhardt Jr has never been the one to mince his words. He has more often than not been quite direct with his approach. Recently, he had quite a few things to say on The Dale Jr Download podcast after Kyle Busch’s win. He was quick to raise one of his concerns about the premature hype in NASCAR.

Speaking on how expectations are raised way too early in the season, Dale said, “I don’t fall for that [premature hype]. So this is the sh** that bothers me. We go the Clash and Preece [Ryan] runs really good and everybody’s like oh Preece’s gonna have an awesome year. We talked about that on this show.”

The 48-year-old also explained how setting realistic expectations will help with RCR. He said, “Kyle goes and wins that race [Auto Club 400], the #8 car ran good there, they run to both stages there it’s a fast race car at that racetrack and you put one of the best drivers in it and it wins the race.

“It shouldn’t be a shock, it shouldn’t be a surprise but I need a bigger sample, I need several more, let’s go to some more race tracks, let’s just be patient about just what we think that they can accomplish. I won’t be shocked if they [RCR] win six races but if they win only two or three, I won’t be shocked either. It’s not easy to run, to win, and be successful in this series.” Dale Jr has a point there and it would be interesting to see how RCR does this season with Busch leading the pack.
