“Was Beating Those Guys” – Kyle Busch Responds to Critics’ Accusations and Reveals Some Special Wins

No matter how you look at it, Kyle Busch will go down in NASCAR history as one of the drivers with a lot of race wins. There has previously been a lot of criticism against the Joe Gibbs Racing man of ‘stat-padding’ victories by competing in the other NASCAR series like Xfinity and Truck Racing.
But then again, Busch is someone who likes to be versatile and has made his way up the ranks and probably likes to continue racing in other series. However, the two-time Cup Series champ is undeterred by whatever flak he receives from his haters.
Speaking in a talk show, Busch is quoted as saying, “You can battle the haters all you want and talk about how good or cool or all the wins were whatnot. But they’re always going to have some sort of fact of the matter I guess. That one didn’t mean anything or there wasn’t anybody that you were racing in Truck or Xfinity or whatever.”

Kyle Busch points to the fact of beating senior NASCAR drivers when he was 18 years old
The Joe Gibbs’ No.18 continued and said, “But I remember early on, in the early years of running in the Truck Series and I was 16-17, 18 I guess. And I was running against guys like Ron Hornaday and Mike Skinner and Todd Bodine and Jack Sprague and all the champions of the series.”
Busch started racing in the Truck Series late in 2001 and has since gone onto secure 59 race wins. But whatever the nature of those victories might be, the 35-year-old still exudes the same passion of competing across all three series whenever time permits him.
“And also there were some like Kasey Kahne or Tony Stewart, couple other guys that would come in and race as well too and I was beating those guys! So yeah, felt really cool to be able to get those wins when I was a younger buck I guess on my way up through. “
“And not just with the experience that I have now, racing against kids that don’t have the experience. But you know, those wins were really, really special to me.”

Whatever said and done, even the man from Nevada would like to believe that it was an average Cup Series season in 2020 for him. Getting just the one win at Texas, he looked like a shadow of his former self whilst racing against his competitors.
He has already expressed his intention to do better, come the Daytona 500 race in February. And while the criticism from his haters will be out in the open, Busch would go about his business the only way he has known all these years – by winning races.
