Kobe Bryant had a legacy of the greatest ever to play this game. At the mere age of 17, a rookie from Philadelphia was about to step into the limelight of the most glorious team in the NBA.
“With the 13th pick in NBA, Charlotte hornets selects 6’6″ from Lower Merion, Kobe Bean Bryant,” announced the iconic David Stern in the 50th NBA Draft.
The Hornets then traded Kobe Bryant to Los Angeles Lakers. He joined in one of the most Elite Draft Classes NBA ever had.

Kobe Bryant and his illustrious career
Kobe had a long career of 20 years. It’s marked with some serious highlights of his game and process. The Mamba had his last shot in NBA against Utah Jazz in 2016. He ended his career with a 60 point game. Kobe bid adieu to NBA being the oldest player in the division’s history to hit such a score in a single game. His career averages were 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 1,346 regular-season games. Leading the NBA as 4th highest point-getter which was recently surpassed by LeBron James. Mamba holds the record of Highest no. of assists by a Shooting Guard in NBA. 5 times NBA Champion also was the youngest ever to win slam dunk contest at the age of 18.

The life of Kobe Bryant after retirement
The Lakers Legend is a family man who committed to being more with them after the sporting career came to an end. Gigi, Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter was about to bring the same mamba mentality for her Harbor Day School. Gigi was about to shine bright like a star with his dad by her side. Kobe even started to have some special offseason workouts with the rising stars of NBA which includes the likes of, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Atentekumpo and others.

January 26th January 2020, a helicopter crash was reported in Los Angeles leaving everyone shocked and shattered that Kobe Bryant and Gigi were not with us anymore. We even lost seven others including Gigi’s team-mate and her parents. Kobe and other parents were on their way for the upcoming game of their children. A loud cry was heard across the world who just couldn’t digest such a horrific incident.
Memorial Service
Feb.24, A memorial service is scheduled to celebrate the life of LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter and seven others who lost their lives. Fans can attend by raffle tickets to maintain the peace and harmony around Staples Center. NBA players like James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Klay Thompson are expected to show their presence with the entire Lakers Group, organization, and players.

His determination and process were of high stature. Losing a kind and humble gentleman is always going to pain our hearts. And from the entire Essentially Sports team, we share the pain and loss.
