The New York Knicks franchise spearhead Jalen Brunson received massive praise from the NBA world following his team’s 4-0 run. The team defeated the Washington Wizards in the Saturday night contest with a comfortable 105-121 win. Notably, the team beat powerhouse teams like Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves in their last four games. Above all, Brunson turned out to be the star of these outings.

The star point guard has always been under the scrutiny over his ability to lead a side. The critics often took jabs at his short stature on the court. But, Brunson has repeatedly proved everyone wrong by carrying his team in the competitive Eastern Conference to the 4th seed with a 21-15 record. Now, the fans root for the 27-year-old, and demand a spot in the All-Star starting line-up.

The league opened the gates for the All-Star voting a few days ago, and the NBA world is all locked in, voting for their favorite stars. In the first fan returns revealed by the league, Tyrese Haliburton topped the Eastern Conference for guards with 1.3 million votes. Meanwhile, Brunson took the sixth spot with 370k votes. This definitely didn’t sit well with the fans, as they took to social media, demanding better for the Knicks guard.

In these last four games, Brunson has averaged 28.3 points with 7.9 assists and with a high score of 33 points. The fans were all over the star on social media, requesting for an immediate inclusion of the 27-year-old in the All-Star games. One user said, “Over lillard for sure. Damian Lillard, who moved to the East in this season, picked up 955k votes and currently holds the second spot after Haliburton.

The players with a short stature in the league are often criticized for not fitting in. Similarly, Brunson also faced the heat. Recently, the WNBA legend Becky Hammon took a dig at Brunson. She said, “They’re [Knicks] well-coached, they’re going to be on their defensive game, but at the end of the day, they don’t have a dude… You gotta have a dude,” suggesting his short stature.

However, since then, the 27-year-old has been on a role, silencing his critics with his performances. Notably, he recorded his career high score 50 points against the Phoenix Suns this season.
