The couple welcomed their firstborn, Damian Jr., in 2018, three years before they tied the knot. In January 2021, the family expanded with the birth of twins, a daughter named Kali and a son named Kalii. Presently, the Bucks’ superstar finds himself entangled in a contentious legal dispute over the custody of his three children with his ex-wife, Kay’La. The moniker “Dame Time” originated back when Lillard was just a high school player in Oakland, California. In 2006, his team, the Oakland Rebels, was navigating a 20-point deficit at halftime against rivals NorCal Magic. This is when Raymond Young, Lillard’s coach, posed a difficult question in front of him: “Can you even take over a game? Do you even know how to do that? The time is here. Can you get it done?” These words had a profound impact on 16-year-old Lillard, who then unleashed a barrage of driving lay-ins and pull-up jumpers.

In the final minute, when the Rebels were down by three points, Lillard shot a cold-blooded three to tie the game. Even though the Rebels eventually lost the game, according to his former teammate, P.J. Taylor, this is how Dame Time was born.
