Since being drafted during a Taco Bell commercial, Nikola Jokic has made remarkable strides to establish himself as one of the premier centers in the league. His arrival brought a distinct flair to the Denver Nuggets offense, thanks to his impeccable ability to find open teammates. Recognizing the potential for a title with Jokic at the helm, the team strategically built around him, adding talents like Jamal Murray, MPJ, Aaron Gordon, and others. Their efforts finally bore fruit last season when they secured their first NBA title in 47 years.

However, while Jokic is one of the most skilled players in recent memory, he also takes the cake for being the funniest. The 2X NBA MVP is called The Joker for a reason. In the recent episode of his podcast From the Point by Trae Young, the Atlanta Hawks guard shed light on the goofy side of Jokic’s personality.

While Jokic is widely acknowledged for his exceptional passing skills and high-impact offensive performances, there’s a humorous aspect to his personality that endears him to fans, and Trae Young is no exception. When asked who Trae Young thinks is the funniest player in the league, the 25-year-old wasted no time in giving flowers to the 2023 NBA Finals MVP. He said, “To me, he is hilarious. Some of the stuff that you see, some of the stuff he does in his post-game interviews, or just him interacting, little moments behind the scenes—it’s like he is so funny.”

One incident that he particularly remembers is how Jokic made everyone laugh during the 2019 Taco Bell Skills Challenge that took place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, while he maintains his off-court charisma, he’s also leaving a mark on the court with his remarkable statistics every night.

Nikola Jokic is making a strong bid for his third MVP title this season. Despite a dip in efficiency to start the season, the reigning champion has hit his stride recently, boasting an impressive nearly 78% shooting efficiency from the field in January. Through 39 games, he has maintained remarkable averages of 25.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 9.3 assists.

Additionally, Joel Embiid’s recent knee injury during Friday’s 128-92 loss to the New York Knicks has further tilted the scales in Jokic’s favor. Since the knee twist, Embiid has missed three games, putting him on the brink of slipping from the top spot on the MVP ladder. If the Joker continues to do his part and secure wins for his team, no one can dispute his claim to the Michael Jordan Trophy.
