Adding to Chicago’s problems, their star guard Alex Caruso injured his ankle during the game and played less than his usual minutes. After the game, Caruso addressed the severity of his injury and revealed Celtics star Al Horford’s role in the painful twist.

Caruso headed to the locker room after he rolled his ankle during an awkward play in the first half. Fortunately, the Bulls star was able to return to the floor and play in the second period. During the post-game interview, Caruso revealed that Forward Al Horford stepped on his foot as he twisted his ankle, further aggravating his injury. Caruso got his ankle re-taped and played through discomfort in the second half; marking his second injury (right hamstring) within a month.

The 30-year-old guard played only 28 minutes in tonight’s blowout loss and finished with 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Caruso’s reduced playing time raises concerns about his health, considering he has played 30+ minutes in his last five appearances. Caruso headed for more treatment after the game and expects to play on Monday against the Washington Wizards.

The Bulls Chicago have played exceptionally recently to move up to the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference. The pace has brought along a legitimate chance at getting into the playoffs by qualifying through the play-in tournament. However, Alex Caruso’s health and availability will prove essential for the team, courtesy of his experience.

Alex Caruso’s playoff experience can come in handy for the Bulls

Alex Caruso joined the Chicago Bulls in 2021 and has become a key part of their roster. He has helped the Bulls stay in the playoff race this season, averaging 9.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. But Caruso’s contribution to the team lies beyond the stat sheet. He is Chicago’s defensive anchor who helps DeMar DeRozan and Co. operate freely on offense. Caruso has been a menace on defense this year, averaging 1.6 steals and 1 block.

More importantly, Caruso is one of the few Bulls players with experience of playing in pressure playoff situations. Before Caruso moved to Chicago, he helped the Los Angeles Lakers win a Championship inside the Bubble in 2020. The Bulls will need Caruso’s Championship experience if they want to qualify for the playoffs and make a deep post-season run.
