Has Brown lived up to his contract?

Jaylen Brown signed a 5-year $303.7 million supermax extension with the Celtics last summer. The whopping contract made Brown’s deal the richest in NBA history. However, many believe the Celtics superstar did not deserve the $303 million contract. He is not the best player on his team, as he is secondary to his co-star, Jayson Tatum. Brown is averaging 22.7 points this season, which is nowhere close to the numbers some of the other superstars in the league are averaging. Meanwhile, Tatum is averaging 27.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.

But Brown’s impact on the Celtics goes beyond his stat sheet. Despite not having unbelievable stats, Brown has helped the Celtics stay on the top of the Eastern Conference standings. He also has incredible chemistry with Jayson Tatum, having gone to 4 Conference Finals and 1 NBA Finals together. Despite tonight’s loss, the Celtics have a legitimate chance at winning the title this season.
