Damian Lillard Fires 3-Worded Reaction to Kevin Durant’s Historic 27,423 NBA Points Feat

Kevin Durant recently moved up to the 10th position on the all-time scoring list. Since his debut, KD has been consistently raking up accolades and in his 16th season, he continues to play with the same energy he did at debut. The entire league, including LeBron James, celebrated the career milestone. Even Damian Lillard joins the list as he recently took to social media to congratulate the two-time MVP.

The NBA’s official Twitter account posted a highlight reel celebrating KD’s 27,423  points. Lillard retweeted the post with three simple words, “Lots of baskets.”

The NBA is in awe of KD’s career while he still keeps dominating the floor on both sides. With two NBA rings, two finals MVPs, and a regular season MVP, KD is in a league of his own. Even players like King James himself took inspiration from Durant’s game. Despite his long time in the NBA, Durant is still averaging 31 points a game and is currently second on the list of top scorers in the league this season.

KD inspired LBJ

In a 2012 interview, LeBron James stated that Kevin Durant serves as a motivating force that inspires him to elevate his game. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, James mentioned that there is someone in Oklahoma with the goal of surpassing him. During this period, Durant played a pivotal role for the Thunder, while James was making history with the Heat. In the same year, they honored James with the Sportsperson of the Year award and secured his first championship. Despite these accomplishments, James’ deep admiration for KD highlights the exceptional skill set of Durant.

“He’s my inspiration because I see the direction he’s headed, and it’s the same direction I’m headed. I know his mindset, and he knows mine. It’s a collision course. We’re driving one another,” James expressed, emphasizing the bond between him and Durant. Beyond their roles as on-court rivals, James and KD share a friendship that goes beyond the NBA. The two have been friends since Durant’s high school days. Interestingly, both have earned championship rings competing against each other.
